How Is The Coronavirus Affecting The U.S. And The University System In Particular?
Many Universities have been affected by the virus and are taking measures to ensure all students remain out of risk. Many are closing campuses and installing online classes for their students. Others are requesting students stay in their dorms and do not attend class. Others, have yet to decide what measures to take.
However, their application process has not been affected by this and all universities are continuing their work for the upcoming semesters. In fact, some have pushed their deadlines back as they understand many students are affected by the lockdown and cannot fulfill some of the exams/paperwork necessary.
This depends on the university. Each university will have its own approach to handle the delay of applications, start terms, etc. If you have been admitted, but your start term is delayed, the university will most likely not ask you to go through the admission process again; however, you may be required to submit new financial documents in order to receive a new I-20 immigration document.
If you have not been admitted, but your application was submitted, the university may require a new application for the upcoming semester if they have delayed the term for which you have applied, but keep in mind that you will already have the documents prepared to resubmit or the university may keep your submitted documents on file. Since this varies, it is recommended to ask each university what their process would be for this situation.

Should I Delay My Application?
No, at Epro 360 we are continuing to work with all the universities and we have not encountered any setbacks. It may be true that some documents may need to be handed in later than expected, or even test dates be moved back, but the end result is still the same. All universities are still accepting students and are working around any possible inconvenience the Coronavirus is creating.
Will The Coronavirus Make It Harder For Me To Be Accepted By The College? Like Will They Accept Less International Students Because Of That?
No, universities are still very much invested in receiving international students. Your process may take longer than average due to some special circumstances regarding the virus, but the university is not creating any impediments.
Are Exchange Programs Which Start This Summer Affected By The Precautions Due To The Coronavirus?
The situation in the US is still changing and it is hard to predict the future decisions. However, as of today, there have been no cancellations of the application process for Fall 2020 and all of our students in the midst of their application process continue to work on getting them submitted on time. If universities decide to postpone them, we would move your application to Spring 2021, at no extra cost of you
Can I Still Process My Visa? Are The U.S. Embassies/Consulates Open?
At this point, if you would like to begin a visa process it may take longer than the average due to the exceptional circumstances. However, you have time for your visa to be processed once these circumstances pass.
What Happens With The English Exams? (SAT, TOEFL,Etc…)
Some of them have been postponed until later notice. We recommend students to plan in advance and leave some time to find a slot to take the exam. On a positive note, universities are aware of this circumstance and have allowed later deadlines to be put in place, making it more reasonable and easy for students.
As of now, TOEFL is offering an at home TOEFL exam, which is different from anything they have offered before. For more information click here or ask your Epro 360 representative.
The Duolinguo at home English exam is also being accepted by certain colleges and universities. For more information on this exam click here.
What Happens With The Admission Exams? (SAT, GMAT, Etc…)
Most exams have been cancelled and will either be rescheduled at a later date or you will be given an option to reschedule at your own convenience. We recommend students to plan in advance and leave some time to find a slot to take the exam. On a positive note, universities are aware of this circumstance and have allowed later deadlines to be put in place, making it more reasonable and easy for students.
As The US Universities May Slow Down Their Own Internal And External Processes - How Can You Guarantee That The Time Needed For The Applications In Order To Join The University In 2021 Will Be Given?
The application processes are still staying quite consistent in terms of timing, and universities are taking different measures to ensure students get applied in a reasonable timeframe. If documents are missing and cannot be completed due to the Covid-19 situation, universities are allowing either extra time, or that document be submitted as soon as they are received. Meaning, an application will likely not suffer. Furthermore, universities are working remotely and are not ‘slowing down’ the work they are doing, quite the opposite.
Wouldn´T It Be Smart And Realistic To Simply Cancel The Actual Application Before Work Is Invested Until We All Know What Is Going To Happen AFTER The Corona Virus Is Over. It May Likely Be Difficult To Join A US University As A European Student And Also Probably By Law The Number Of European Students Will Be Limited By The US Government?
That is one option, of course. The other, is staying on top of the developing events and even benefit from them. Many students will likely be doubting whether to apply or not to the US and we believe many of our students, those that apply early, will be rewarded for it, as many of the scholarships will go to those that do apply. As there will for sure be a decrease in int’l students, there will be a higher chance of receiving aid, so it works in the benefit of the student. Lastly, the US government has not issued any restriction toward the number of international students that can apply, this is not true.

How Should I Proceed?
Please visit your University webpage to be clear on the different guides and steps the university is imposing. Please do not book a flight or think of returning home, as this could be problematic and of high risk. Our recommendation is to stay in your area, keep as isolated as possible, and always follow the guidelines produced by your University.
Can I Go Back To My Own Country Now?
In general, the answer is yes. Many universities are allowing international students to return home and continue their education through online classes while maintaining their F-1 Visa status. However, we recommend you to discuss these plans with an immigration specialist from your university beforehand to be knowledgeable of your options with the university and how it will affect your visa status if at all.

This depends on the university.
